When Buick unveiled its new Encore compact crossover at the Detroit auto show last year, I remembered, officials said they expected it to push the company to 200,000 annual sales in the U.S.
Where did the other 800,000 sales come from?
China, where Buicks have been strong in acceptance.
Buick last sold 1 million vehicles in 1984; most of those were in the U.S.

The ABB 480V DC fast charger uses 480 volts to provide an electric vehicle such as the Nissan Leaf an 80 percent charge in 30 minutes, according to Nigel Zeid, Leaf specialist at Boulder Nissan.
This will be the fourth fast-charging station along the Front Range, Zeid said.
